Glossary
The words you will hear, in plain English.
- Data licence
- Written permission for a buyer to use an agreed copy of your records for agreed purposes. You keep ownership of the original records.
- Exclusive licence
- You agree not to license the same records to anyone else, for a set time or a set use.
- Non-exclusive licence
- You may license the same records to more than one buyer. Each agreement says what that buyer may do.
- Permitted use
- The specific things a buyer may do with the records, such as training or testing an AI system. Anything else needs new permission.
- Record
- One item of work history, such as an email thread, a support ticket, a deal note, or a document.
- Dataset
- A defined set of records prepared for a task, with a description of what it contains and what was left out.
What data can I share?
Emails, sales records, support tickets, documents, and work histories may be useful. Look for examples that show a request, the work, and a result.
Do I need to upload files?
No. Tell us what you have and roughly how much. Keep the files in your systems at this stage.
How much could I earn?
The typical range is between $200K and $2M. Team size, years in business, and the kinds of records you keep set the number. The final price is agreed in writing; no sale is guaranteed.
Do I keep my data?
A licence gives permission to use data; it does not by itself transfer ownership. The agreement sets the uses, access, and other rights.
What happens to private details?
Agree what to remove, replace, or leave out before sharing. Names are only part of that check; other details can identify people too.
What happens after I send the form?
We review your answers and contact you about the next step. The form does not give us or a buyer access to your files.
Ready when you are.
No fees. No files. Describe your records and get a real number.
